This area was bought by a couple back in the 90's after a landslide. The place was mainly a swamp and it is nowadays a haven for flora and fauna species. The owner is the only responsible for planting all the plants and trees. They have a team of amazing guides who are very knowledgeable. Once you arrived you will have a warm welcome and you will briefly learn the story behind the gardens. Then you will take a ride around the place. Once you reach the top you can enjoy breathtaking views of the surroundings. There are a souvenir shop, a small café and WC by the entrance. It is located 20 minutes ride from downtown. The main attractions of the gardens are the upside down trees which are home for other plants.

Excellent old growth Rainforest garden and the guided tours of the rainforest were very educational.
The view from the top of the mountain is wonderful and I understand that it is one of the best of the Juneau area.
I was amazed at the knowledge of the local staff.

You need to try the hot chocolate at the gift shop. I don’t drink coffee, but I am a certified cocoa connoisseur. Their serving was the best that I drank on my whole Alaska vacation, cruise and road trip.

What beautifully maintained grounds. The flowers are beautiful. The tour via golf cart takes about an hour. The guides are very knowledgeable and informative regarding all the different plants, flowers etc. the gift shop is small with lots of reasonably priced items. There is also a small cafe for light snack and drinks. There is a walking trail if you prefer to walk. Recommend for all ages.
