Justin and his crew milled up some beautiful Alaska birch treads to replace our old carpeted stairs and some custom trim. The quality of their work is excellent, and they are very knowledgeable and helpful. He even let me borrow a stair jig to fit the treads into my old out-of-square staircase. We're very pleased with the new look!

Ask before going to them if they could plane a larger piece of wood, the guy on the phone said no problem are labor rate is 48.00 per hour we most likely could get done today. So I drove from west Fairbanks to drop off the slabs, filled out the work order and ask to be called when done. 20 minutes later get a call to say you didn't buy the slab from here so we won't do the job. If you don't do work on other wood, you should ask first did you buy from us before dropping it off. Poor customer service. I am surprised and disappointed with this as a previous customer of their company. That will no longer be an issue.

Thank you for your review. Sometimes it takes a review such as yours to remind us that we can always improve our service and training. Our minimum milling fee is $48.75 for 15 minutes and our shop rate is $150/hr. ; We apologize if this may not have been properly conveyed to you over the phone. We have also very recently changed our policy on milling wood not purchased at our store due to the liability. We apologize again for the inconvenience, but we will be in contact soon with a suggested resolution. Thank you.
